How it works
You can harvest fresh in-season organic vegetables every week from May through November (check Our Crops page to see what we grow).
- Harvesters pay one annual fee to harvest for the entire season
- Each week we share with you what can be harvested from the fields and give instructions for harvesting
- Harvesting should take about 30-60 minutes, depending on the season
- Harvest times at Pluk!Boterbloem are:
- Wednesday and Thursday from 1-8pm
- Friday from 11am-6pm
- Saturday from 9am-7pm
Buy a harvest share through solidarity payment
At Pluk!Boterbloem, the contribution is per person, so you pay for the amount of people in your household. Children aged 0 up to 6 participate for free, and children aged 7 up to 12 participate for 50% of the price.
Sustainable agriculture not only means caring for the soil, crops and the environment, but also caring for each other. The ideal picture is a farm where everyone, regardless of ability to pay, has access to the freshest possible, nutritious and healthy vegetables. Sustainable also means that the farmer can earn a fair income to be able to (continue to) grow these vegetables with care. Solidary payment brings all this together. Those who have more to spend can make it possible for someone to join who has less money.
The income-based pricing system asks you to consider your own economic situation and the hourly wage you earn yourself when choosing your price for a harvest share.
In the table below, we have shown how the total price of a harvest share affects our salary payments.
We hope that the majority of you choose a harvest share price of at least 16 €/hour - and ideally 18 €/hour or above - as this is the minimum amount needed for the farmers to receive a minimum wage. At the same time, we want our harvest to be accessible to everyone. If you cannot afford the minimum harvest share price, but would still like to participate, please send an email to plukboterbloem@cityplot.org. We will do our best to accommodate you ︎.
Please take into consideration that we are self-employed. The hourly rate we are showing in the table below is a BRUTO amount , from which we have to pay our pensions, social security, holidays, insurances and taxes. In future years we hope to earn more so we can build up pensions and cover our insurance and other costs.
Example calculation of total contribution for a household:
For a household consisting of two adults, a child of 5 and a child of 8, and with a chosen hourly wage for the farmers of €18, the calculation is as follows:
