Koolrabi•kohlrabi

About
There are two types of kohlrabi: the white-green ones and the blue-purple ones; both of them are pale white-green under the skin. The taste is somewhere between cauliflower and radish, and can be eaten raw or cooked. The young leaves of the kohlrabi are also edible. The younger the tuber, the juicier it is.

How to harvest?
Cut the stem below the round part of kohlrabi, around soil level. Best to use pruning shears for this, the stem is tough.

Bewaren
Storage
To store the kohlrabi, it is best to remove the foliage (cut it down to the tuber) and keep it in the refrigerator. You can keep it this way for 4 to 5 days.
Kook info
De koolrabi kan rauw worden gegeten. Je kunt hem ook grillen, roerbakken, koken.
